Messy Christingle

There were nearly 100 people in All Saints Church for our Messy Church/Christingle Service on Sunday 6th December. What an amazing time we had!!

We decorated biscuits and made advent wreaths, candle flames, angels and, of course, Christingles.

During a short service, we learned the ‘story of the Christingle’ and sung songs. At the end of the service, we lit the candles and dimmed the lights as we prayed to God, thanking him for his gift to us at Christmas time.

The service was followed by a party and a competition to see whose angel could abseil from the bell ringing chamber to the floor quickest – well done, Joshua!!

Many, many thanks to everybody who contributed to this wonderful occasion. To those who provided party food, those who worked long and tirelessly in the kitchen, those who fixed up the angel zip wire, helped with the crafts, played in the band, set up, cleared up and, most of all, to everybody who came! – we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Watch the ‘events’ posts for details of the first Messy Church of 2016 and have a very happy and blessed Christmas.
